The Magic of Synchronicities: How to Recognize Soul Guidance
I absolutely love synchronicities.
Every time one appears, I feel like a little child discovering magic all over again. They remind me that life is far more mysterious, intelligent and interconnected than I can fully understand.
I first came across the idea of synchronicity while reading Carl Jung. At the time, I was trying to make sense of my life and discover what I was meant to do next. His work gave language to something I had already begun noticing: meaningful “coincidences” that seemed to arrive at exactly the right moment.
The word synchronicity comes from the Greek roots syn (“together”) and chronos (“time”), meaning “together in time.” Jung described synchronicities as meaningful coincidences that aren’t connected through cause and effect, yet somehow feel deeply related.
Over the years, my fascination with synchronicities has only grown.
For me, they have become one of the ways my Soul communicates with me. They rarely reveal the entire path ahead. Instead, they feel like the voice of a GPS gently saying: “Turn left.”, “Turn right.”, “Take the next step.”
When I follow these moments, I’m not guaranteed a particular outcome or that life will unfold exactly as I hope. What I receive instead is an inner sense of resonance, an energetic “click” that tells me I’m moving in alignment with something deeper than my thinking mind.
I also don’t believe synchronicities mean the same thing for everyone.
Even if two people experience the exact same event, the meaning each person receives will be different. Our life experiences, inner landscape, and the lessons our Soul is inviting us to learn shape how we interpret these moments. A synchronicity is deeply personal.
How do you recognize a synchronicity?
In my experience, three qualities are usually present:
An external event mirrors something you’ve been thinking about, feeling, praying about, or wrestling with internally.
It carries a sense of meaning, wonder, or quiet delight.
It often defies logical explanation, leaving your rational mind unable to fully explain it
The best way I can describe it is this:
An inner experience suddenly meets an outer experience, and the two seem to recognize each other.
A recent synchronicity
A few days ago, I picked up Lynn Robinson’s book, Divine Intuition. It profoundly impacted me about ten years ago, and every so often I feel called to revisit it.
Before going to bed, I quietly asked my guides, “Show me the chapter I most need to read.”
I “randomly” opened the book and the chapter I was reading spoke directly to what I was moving through. I went to sleep feeling calm, supported and reassured.
The following morning, I opened my inbox.
There was an email from Lynn Robinson.
I hadn’t received one of her newsletters in years.
In the email, she shared that she would be speaking at an online summit and invited readers to attend.
So I registered.
When the event began, I was surprised to discover there were only eighteen people present. After Lynn’s presentation, the host invited everyone to ask questions.
For a moment, I almost stayed quiet.
Then I realized this unexpected opportunity might be exactly why life had orchestrated this sequence of events.
I asked my question.
Her response helped me see my situation from an entirely new perspective, and I left feeling grateful that I had trusted the invitation.
Paying attention has made my life richer, more joyful, and more deeply connected.
Now I’m curious…
Have you experienced any synchronicities lately?
I’d love to hear your story.
Sometimes all it takes is one meaningful conversation to help you hear the guidance that’s been quietly waiting for you all along.
With love,
Gayane.
